The speciality of corrections (3-year curriculum for professional higher education)

  • Studying on this curriculum can be commenced by people who hold a secondary school diploma.
  • The graduates are capable of working as class II inspectors (inspector-personal officer)

The speciality of prison guard (1-year curriculum, EQF 4, basic training)

  • Studying on this curriculum can be commenced by people who hold a secondary school diploma.
  • The graduates are capable of working on the positions on the professional level of class II prison guards (prison guard, escort officer). While working in prison, it is possible to obtain the professional level of a class I prison guard (senior prison guard, senior escort officer).

The speciality of information and investigation officer (0.75-year curriculum, EQF level 5 continuing training curriculum)

The tasks of an official working in a prison’s information and investigation department or in the internal control department include preventing and proceeding misdemeanour matters of inmates and employees of the prison. In order to commence studies on this curriculum, the students have to have a valid service relationship with a prison.

  • Studies on this curriculum can be commenced by students who hold a  secondary school diploma and who generally already work in a prison (on the level of a class I prison guard the least).
  • The graduate is capable of fulfilling the tasks of the department of information and investigation and of the official carrying out internal control.

The speciality of case manager (0.75-year curriculum, EQF level 5 continuing training curriculum)

Upon completing the curriculum for case managers, the student acquires specific knowledge and skills that help decrease recidivism and execute target group based (young and mentally challenged inmates, foreign inmates, inmates connected with organised crime) imprisonment. In order to commence studies on this curriculum, the students have to have a valid service relationship with a prison.

  • Studies on this curriculum can be commenced by students who have a prison’s referral, secondary education diploma, 3 years of experience in working in a prison and EQF level 4 competence the least (class II inspectors).
  • The graduates are capable of working as case managers with specific groups of inmates.
