Friendly AI Transformation Hub

Developing strategic security perspectives on AI futures and providing evidence-based solutions for managing AI risks.

T3 = Friendly AI Transformation Hub

The world is in the midst of a technological race towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) – artificial intelligence capable of performing everything humans do at the same level or better. At present, the dominant strategic mindset focuses primarily on the positive opportunities offered by AI. However, in order to realise positive societal prospects, it is equally important to acknowledge and prevent the technology’s serious negative impacts.

In Estonia, the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences is best positioned to address this challenge as a leader in the development of the internal security and safety field. The Academy’s role is to act as a frontrunner and guide, to initiate important discussions and shape future directions by looking boldly ahead and thereby helping to consciously build a safer tomorrow.

To seek answers to these questions, the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences, as a development partner in smart security, has this year launched the Secure AI Knowledge Centre initiative, known as T3. Once funding and cooperation partners have been secured, this initiative will develop into the T3 Knowledge Centre, focusing on the security dimension of artificial intelligence – security risks and their mitigation. Similar organisations already exist around the world, from the United Kingdom and Singapore to Canada and Korea. Their common denominator is AI safety and/or security.
