Micro-credential programme

A micro-credential programme is a comprehensive continuing education curriculum composed of subjects from degree studies. By completing the programme, you can enhance your existing skills, acquire new professional competences, or study an additional field.
A micro-credential can be completed within one semester or one academic year. Upon graduation, participants receive a continuing education certificate. A study agreement is concluded with each participant, and the studies are subject to a tuition fee.

EASS is glad to announce an exceptional opportunity for professionals seeking to enhance their understanding and expertise in addressing hybrid threats. The Estonian Academy of Security Sciences, in partnership with Mykolas Romeris University in Lithuania,  is offering a specialized micro-credential course focused on countering hybrid threats.

The Micro-Credential Course in Countering Hybrid Threats is specifically tailored to meet the needs and interests of students, practitioners and scholars in the fields of security, law enforcement, intelligence, and related domains. This course aims to deepen participants' knowledge of contemporary security challenges and equip them with practical tools to effectively counteract hybrid threats.

Application Process


Interested candidates are invited to apply for the Micro-Credential Course in Tackling Hybrid Threats by submitting the following documents:

  1. Copy of Bachelors’ degree (BA) Diploma of Professional Higher Education or a corresponding qualification.
  2. Certificate of English proficiency at B2 level; if you don’t possess this Certificate, online platform for English language self-test will be provided.
  3. Motivation letter: Share a detailed motivation letter outlining your reasons for applying to the course, your goals, and how you expect to benefit from this opportunity.
  4. Scanned copy of ID document (ID card or passport) 
  5. CV of an applicant. 

Two years of professional work experience in internal security or a related field is an advantage.  

The target group of the course comprises managers, officials and employees of Border Guard, Internal Security, Police Institutions and related fields of the Nordic and Baltic, Schengen and Associated countries, as well as other European Union Member States who wish to acquire a broader knowledge of European Union internal security and hybrid threats and who envision their future careers in this field.

All documents must be in English. The deadline for submitting documents is 15 May 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Documents can be submitted from 2 March 2026.

Selection Process


The selection of candidates will be based on a comprehensive review of the submitted application documents. Successful applicants will be notified by email on June 15, 2026. 

Student Agreement will be signed with each student until August 14, 2026
