International summer school "Security in a Changing World
You are welcome to participate in the international summer school "Security in a Changing World," which focuses on cooperation at borders, in technology, and crises. The summer school will be held from August 10 to 14, 2026, in Estonia and it will take place in two Estonian cities – Tallinn and Narva.
The summer school is organized by the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences. The Estonian Academy of Security Sciences is an institution of professional higher education that provides vocational, professional higher education, and Master's programmes, as well as continuing education for experts in the field of internal security.
The aim of the summer school is to offer participants an inspiring and up-to-date interdisciplinary overview of the latest developments in internal security, combining practical activities and international cooperation in the fields of security, border security, and technology.
Main topics:
- Global trends and the changing meaning of internal security;
- Hybrid threats, data protection, and cooperation between the public and private sectors;
- Frontex, illegal immigration, and new border security methods;
- Individual crisis resilience, emergency response, and civil protection;
- Technological developments and related ethical and legal issues.
Target group: Anyone interested in the field of security, from students, lecturers, and researchers to representatives of government agencies and the private sector. Up to two participants from each organization are welcome.
Form of study: lectures, seminars, discussions, group work, and practical field trips.
Working language: English.

Is it possible to fund the training through Erasmus+ STT grants?
Yes, each participant can apply for a mobility grant within their institution. We will provide all the required documentation for the Erasmus+ STT grant applicants: invitation, curriculum and certificate of attendance.
The price includes:
- five days of training with recognized experts;
- an exclusive visit to the Schengen external border in Narva;
- guided tours in Tallinn and Narva;
- guided survival training in Viru bog;
- two nights' accommodation in Narva;
- transport between Narva and Tallinn;
- some lunch and coffee breaks;
- a welcome dinner in the beginning of the summer school;
- a certificate of continuing education.
The price does not include:
- accomodation in Tallinn;
- some breakfasts and lunches;
- other personal expenses.

All together there are 25 places available at the summer school, which will be filled in the order of registration.
The summer school will not take place, if fewer than 18 people register. A decision on whether the summer school will take place will be sent on May 22 at the latest.
