The Evaluation Council of the Estonian Education Quality Agency (HAKA) has accredited the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences for the next seven years
The Estonian Academy of Security Sciences is the first higher education institution in Estonia to undergo institutional accreditation under HAKA's renewed evaluation model.
The international expert panel highlighted several key strengths:
- Degree programmes, applied research and professional development activities are closely integrated with Estonia’s internal security ecosystem.
- Teaching and research are strongly aligned with the needs of the public sector, labour market demands and broader societal expectations.
- Master's programme and micro-credential programme in Countering Hybrid Threats were recognised as strategically relevant, innovative and international initiative that supports Europe's evolving security needs.
- The Academy provides an outstanding learning environment with a strong practical focus and modern simulation-based learning opportunities.
The international expert panel also identified a significant opportunity for further development: to strengthen the Academy's role as a national leader in leadership development by building on its expertise in crisis management, coordination and public sector leadership, while expanding its training programmes to support other ministries and public sector organisations.
This accreditation is a recognition of our entire community—our students, staff, alumni and partners. Thank you to everyone who contributes every day to shaping the future of Estonia's internal security.
