Second Call for Applications Open: Advance Your Expertise in Countering Hybrid Threats

The Estonian Academy of Security Sciences and Mykolas Romeris University from Lithuania announce the call for applications for the Micro-Credential Course in Countering Hybrid Threats, offering students, practitioners, and researchers a valuable opportunity to deepen and expand their knowledge and skills in addressing today’s complex security challenges.

“Following the strong interest and positive feedback received during the first edition, this renewed call reflects the growing need for specialised expertise in understanding and countering hybrid threats”, said Inge Lindsaar, Head of International Master’s Studies of The Estonian Academy of Security Sciences and a developer of this Programme. Participants will gain advanced insights into the strategic, operational, and societal dimensions of hybrid activities, including disinformation, cyber operations, economic coercion, and critical infrastructure vulnerabilities.

The target group of the course comprises managers, officials and employees of Border Guard, Internal Security, Police Institutions and related fields of the Nordic and Baltic, Schengen and Associated countries, as well as other European Union Member States who wish to acquire a broader knowledge of European Union internal security and hybrid threats and who envision their future careers in this field.

“The programme is designed to complement existing academic and professional experience, equipping participants with analytical tools, practical methodologies, and interdisciplinary perspectives essential for enhancing resilience in democratic societies. By combining academic excellence with practitioner-oriented learning, the course supports the development of professionals capable of responding effectively to emerging hybrid risks”, said Lindsaar.

Applications are now invited from motivated individuals aiming to enhance their competence in hybrid threat analysis and response within the wider European security context.
