EASS will continue a humanitarian demining project with Ukraine

From 15 to 17 August 2018, there will be an opening meeting for the development cooperation project «Development of humanitarian demining education in Lviv State University of Life Safety» in Ukraine.

 

The main goal of the project is to support the establishment of the training system in the field of humanitarian demining in Ukraine, Lviv State University of Life Safety (LTU) by conducting modern technology based training in Estonia.

Estonia has 267 new internal security officials

On 19 June, Katri Raik, the rector of the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences gave Bachelor’s and Master’s degree diplomas and vocational education certificates to 267 new internal security officials. This year there were 15 alumni graduating with honours.

 

This year, there were 19 Master’s level students, 41 students of the Financial College, 30 students of the College of Justice, 111 students of the Police and Border Guard College and 66 students of the Rescue College graduating from the Academy.

The registration for The EASS International Erasmus and Teaching Staff Week is open

The Estonian Academy of Security Sciences is pleased to invite you to its International Erasmus and Teaching Staff Week “Creativity, Innovation, Research and Technology in Internal Security Area”, which will be held from the 1st to the 4th of May 2018, in Tallinn, Estonia.

The International Week is targeted towards administrative and teaching staff dealing with international projects, research, innovation and e-learning.

EASS and Finnish Border and Coast Guard Academy sign a cooperation agreement

Estonian Academy of Security Sciences and Finnish Border and Coast Guard Academy signed a cooperation agreement for 2018.

 

On 7-8 December, director of the Finnish Border and Coast Guard Academy, colonel Pasi Tolvanen, and Sari Lindblom-Häkkinen, head of research, visited the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences. The aim of the meeting was to discuss making the cooperation between the two schools more efficient, to sign a cooperation plan for 2018, and to introduce the activities of the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences.

Concept design of the Narva learning centre of the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences announced

Today the architecture design of the EASS’s Narva Learning Centre was announced in Narva. The authors of the concept design TWIX are the architects of a bureau called 3+1 architects.

In addition to cadets, the study, training and dwelling houses, with a net area of approximately 7200 m² are going to be used by the officials of the Police and Border Guard Board and the students of the UT Narva College. The sports centre in the building will also be opened to the public. The learning centre at 14 Kerese will be finished in 2020.

Security Research, Innovation and Education Event 2017 will take place in Tallinn

We are pleased to announce that the European Commission in cooperation with Estonian Academy of Security Sciences (EASS) and the Estonian Ministry of the Interior will hold the Security Research, Innovation and Education Event in Tallinn, Estonia on 14-15 November 2017.

The two day conference will bring together approximately 400 participants - researchers, industry representatives, public security providers and practitioners (fire departments, police, intelligence agencies, etc.), policymakers and representatives of academies from across Europe.
